Head's Welcome

Welcome to Ryhall Church of England Academy!

‘My school is special because it makes me feel like my voice is heard and has worth.’ '

 OfSTED, February 2023.

On behalf of the staff, children and governors, thank you for taking the time to visit our site. We are really proud of our school - we are a community that cares deeply about developing our children to be the best that they can be. Through our website we aim to give you information about the school and our locality. If, however, you cannot find the information you are looking for, please do not hesitate to contact us.  Visits, tours, enquiries and conversation are always welcomed where you will be able to see our school in action.

As you can see from our main page, our vision in action is:

"Living life in all its fullness, making memories and building futures."

Our aim is to develop the whole child, emotionally, intellectually, physically, academically and spiritually. We have a 'family-feel' school, with talented staff, and an emphasis placed on developing our children's skills and talents. We are very proud of the children and staff here at Ryhall Academy; the staff team is highly professional and works very hard to build lifelong experiences and memories for all of our children so that when the children eventually leave us, they finish with fond memories of primary school, and well-prepared for Secondary School.

We live to a clear set of Christian Values; compassion, friendship, hope, respect, perseverance and trust, together with the character value of resilience. The children describe Ryhall CE Academy as their ‘Friend Ship’, a place where all are respected and valued for their individuality. We have recently (2023) been graded as 'Good' in all areas in our OfSTED report (please refer to the OfSTED page on the website for more information.) In November 2016 we were judged as an 'OUTSTANDING' Church of England School (SIAMS Inspection - please see full report in our Christian Distinctiveness page link to the left).

We have 197 children on roll and we are a small enough to know your child really well, yet big enough to be able to participate in some of the large events that really help to build your child's character. We are tucked away in the beautiful village of Ryhall, and we have the most wonderful facilities to support our curriculum.  In our extensive outdoor area we have a beautiful wildlife garden that hosts our bird watching observatory, mini beast hotels, and reflection space, a trim-trail, games pitch, outdoor stage and vegetable gardens.  Our church is St. John’s Church in Ryhall and we are visited by the Rev. Jo Saunders each week when she leads our assembly.

We value the fact that we are well-supported by parents, including our fantastic Friends of Ryhall Academy (FORA). We pride ourselves on high standards of teaching and learning, pupil welfare and behaviour and achievement. Children enjoy coming to school and we continue to hold an excellent attendance rate. If you would like to know what our parents say about us, please look at the report of this year's survey which can be found in the 'Parent Voice' section under 'Parents'.

Thank you again, and we look forward to hearing from you soon,

Best wishes,

Mr A. Reed

Principal
