Further Curriculum information:

At Ryhall CE Academy, Religious Education (RE) is a cornerstone of our curriculum, reflecting our commitment to nurturing understanding, respect, and curiosity about the world’s diverse faiths and beliefs.

Our carefully crafted RE curriculum is challenging, accurate, well-sequenced, and balanced. It is designed to help children build their knowledge and understanding year by year, equipping them to explore and make meaningful connections between different religions, beliefs, and practices. With a focus on relevance and diversity, our teaching emphasizes both the shared values and the unique aspects of various faiths, including diversity within beliefs.

RE holds a high profile and priority at our school. We ensure strong provision through well trained staff, enabling children to engage deeply with their learning and confidently articulate why different religions and beliefs are important.

We enrich our curriculum with inspiring visits to places of worship and opportunities to meet individuals from a range of faiths. These experiences bring learning to life, fostering empathy and broadening horizons.

By embedding thoughtful planning and clear progression into our approach, we aim to help every child at Ryhall CE Academy grow in their understanding, develop critical thinking skills, and appreciate the rich tapestry of faiths that shape our world, whilst respecting different worldviews.

Religious Education at Ryhall isn’t just a subject—it’s a driver for living out our school values of respect, understanding, and celebrating “Life in All Its Fullness.”

Courageous advocacy:

Living Our Values Through Courageous Advocacy

At Ryhall CE Academy, our children are encouraged to be active citizens, practicing our Christian values in their everyday lives and striving to make a positive impact on their school, local community, and the wider world. Through our Values Passports, children engage in activities that build empathy, responsibility, and ambition, fostering an understanding of their role as global citizens.

Courageous advocacy is at the heart of what we do. Our children regularly identify causes they are passionate about and take thoughtful action to support them. Recent initiatives include organizing bake sales to raise funds for Peterborough Children’s Wards, helping to provide games and activities for children in hospital over Christmas, and supporting local charities such as Shelter and animal rescue centers. These acts of kindness demonstrate our commitment to living out our values and making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

By integrating these opportunities into our curriculum and daily school life, we empower our children to not only understand the importance of compassion and justice but to actively embody these principles, bringing our ethos of “Life in All Its Fullness” to life.
